In Black & White

Presumably, I have not been writing nor reading much, aside from the paltry and often dull academic reading. Although I have been reading Plato’s Dialogues, it is not a book meant for bus rides; it often comes with a tottering and thunderous headache to boot – in part due to the unusual writing style and the bumpy bus ride. I have been meaning to read Susan Sontag; contemplating if I should purchase her journals or her “Essays”

Last week, I attended Alter Bridge concert with M. My ears went into a comatose state of paralysis after the concert but it was well worth it. When they started playing, the whole floor started thundering and shaking with an incredible might – what a night!

Days flying by; essays flying by, tests flying by. Life has an uncanny way of flying by and eating you up such that it will be all you are left with; after haggard timed years of aging, musing and mulling on your existence or in sum, a typical Sylvia Plath’s rhetoric of “What have you done, what have you done?”? I refuse to do nothing – fears override me and sometimes, when I am afraid and insecure, all I would love to do is to cuddle and hide under M’s warm embraces; hoping that the uncertainties of the world will pass away (even if they may not) but when one dwells and depends too much on another for comfort and in creating “I”, one does away “I” in the process. I refuse to be overridden with fears, and I too refuse to do away with “I”.

P.S Boo... I shall get back to my theatre essay and Nanyang Art assignment.

Y DOES TIME FLY SO FAST

Random photos dating back to the old because the old is new and the new is old.

Notes:
  1. My bookshelves no longer look as messy. It is organized and cute. Well, everything looks cute to me.
  2. I ordered a book from Amazon on Maps and bought more books. Cursed. Lady Books is a temptress and I am her willing lover.
  3. I love my cat, I really do. He is the Clementine to my Lee. Today, I had brunch with my friends and we had a 3 hour discussion on Walking Dead. Jasmine proceeded to set up crazy scenarios and Walking Dead choices for us. She is the Devil's incarnate and she insinuates that I am her potential disciple. No, no, no I refuse. But then again, I love my friends to feed them to the zombies. I will probably feed on them myself to survive. Thanks. Stop judging. We had a Dead Poets pact: Thou shall engage in mercy killing of said and fellow Dead Poets in times of desperation.  Ahem, I guess our criteria of "mercy killing" differs. *evil cackles*
  4. They refuse to come to my house today to play Walking Dead together and is manipulating me into going to their house next Friday (when I promptly have a group project to attend to). What is this sorcery.
  5. I don't want to grow up. I don't want my baby brother to grow up because I would no longer be able to smoulder him with kisses and hugs. I want to always love and see from a child's vantage point of view because I want to see beauty and life in its simplest, purest and most beautiful form.

Soccer Girls' New Year Party and I miss playing football with them.

Yesterday, I found this toy on my shoe cabinet. My dad has a peculiar sense of taste and humour that borders on creepy. So yes, I blame my dad for my weirdness for I have gladly inherited it from him. I think I got his crazy insomnia too.

62 Books in 2013

Aim: Instagram the books I read (am reading) in 2013

* 16/02/2012: Are manga and graphic novels considered books? I just read 11 volumes of manga today in the span of 4 hours. *geek*
